On June 14, a construction site on the banks of the Spree in Charlottenburg will become the stage for the international dance collective Young Boy Dancing Group. Despite Berlin’s housing shortage, the former industrial area in the heart of Berlin is not being released for affordable housing, but will be developed with office buildings. The collective Young Boy Dancing Group originally met in a Martha Graham summer workshop and has been working internationally with a changing cast since 2014. With their modular performances, partly improvised, partly composed from past choreographies, they question social conventions and heteronormative ideas of sexuality.
