What becomes of a diaspora when there’s nowhere left to return to?

Ilavenil Jayapalan, Nitharsan and Christopher Kulendran Thomas discuss with Annika Kuhlmann the current exhibition Ground Zero, the politics of dislocation and the experience of growing up as ›terrorists‹.

Ilavenil Jayapalan, star of the film Being Human (2019) on now at Schinkel Pavillon as part of the exhibition Ground Zero, is an artist, activist and community organiser collaborating with musician M.I.A.

Nitharsan is a journalist, activist and member of the collective Phoenix-TNG, archiving the organisational structures of the autonomous state of Tamil Eelam which was wiped out in 2009.

Christopher Kulendran Thomas is an artist whose work engages the structural processes through which art produces reality. He is an initiator of the ongoing collaborative project New Eelam.

Annika Kuhlmann is a curator who works predominantly through longterm collaborations. She too is an initiator of the ongoing project New Eelam.
